"That must be a difficult gift," Obi-Wan says sincerely. It's a gift that is utterly selfless, one that must be given freely and one that leaves Dan with the hardest parts once someone has been able to peacefully leave the world. He can't imagine having such a gift or even knowing what to do with it, but here is Dan, putting himself back to work in a place where he would likely be doing this over and over.
