Admittedly, this holiday makes even less sense to Obi-Wan than the others that have been explained to him thus far in Darrow. At least birthdays and Christmas and New Year's Eve have significance in terms of family and the turning over of a new leaf, so to speak, while Valentine's Day seems to be a day based solely in capitalism and commercialism.
He can't even begin to comprehend the winged babies who carry a bow and arrow he's seen depicted in a good number of decorations across the city.
His lack of understanding hasn't prevented him from buying Klaus a box of dark chocolate covered strawberries from a candy shop and bakery near his apartment. Earlier in the day he had stopped there, staring at the treats through the window, then he had gone inside on a whim, knowing Klaus would like them regardless of whether or not they had anything to do with the day itself.
What he's most interested in at this point is the meteor. He's heard a bit of gossip regarding it and it seems that a select group of people believe it's going to hit Darrow and obliterate everything, which Obi-Wan finds extremely unlikely. The chances of an impact event large enough to wipe out life are extremely low, though he supposes it isn't impossible. In either case, he sees little reason to worry. He's doubtful it will happen and if it does, there's nothing to be done about it at this late stage.
However, any sort of meteor may eventually be visible in the night sky and so it's with this plan in mind that he walks to the Hargreeves house, the box of chocolates held in his hands. Klaus had assured him the roof of the house would be the best place to watch him and he can't disagree. The roof of his own building was already filled with people when he set out half an hour earlier.
When he gets close, he sends Klaus a text message to let him know he's near, then heads for the front door to politely knock.

He doesn't want to bring down the atmosphere of the evening, but he also wants Klaus to know he can talk to him about absolutely anything at all. No matter what the topic or where they may be or what else might be going on, he should always feel free to do so.
Over the past week or so, he's heard some people talk about a fifty-fifty chance of the meteor hitting Darrow, which he finds extremely unlikely. The math on that is nearly impossible and Obi-Wan had spent nearly an entire day looking for a proper source on the matter, only to find there is no proper source. None of the scientists in Darrow seem to have taken this on at all and all information is coming from the media, a good portion of which isn't exactly known for fact-checking.

"I told you that we had to go back in time," he begins, wrapping his arm around his leg and biting his lip. "It was because there was an apocalypse like, actively happening. The moon had blown up, and there were pieces of it hurtling toward earth and I remember just standing there and watching, thinking we were all about to die, but Five jumped us all back to the sixties to save us, and so we could stop it from happening."
He shrugs a little and pokes at his sushi roll with his chopsticks. "I know this whole meteor thing is probably bullshit, but apparently it's a sore subject with me."
no subject
He reaches across the space between them with his free hand and cups the side of Klaus's face turned up toward the sky.
"Well," he says. "I'll be here with you. Should anything happen."
A smile touches his mouth and he asks, "Would it help for me to go over the math? The likelihood of it actually happening? I've looked into it a great deal since the announcement happened and I've looked into whether or not any of the local scientists have learned anything."
no subject
"Hey, if you're not worried, I'm not worried," Klaus says honestly, nuzzling his cheek into Obi-Wan's palm before turning his head to bite softly at the meat of it. If the world was about to end, there would probably be a shift in the energy that Obi-Wan feels, at least a little. If he's coming at it with that and logic and isn't worried at all, Klaus will roll with that. It's better than freaking out, and if for some reason he's wrong, there's nothing they can do it about it anyway. Might as well enjoy the evening.
"You are the space expert, after all," Klaus teases, leaning over to steal a quick kiss, licking a tiny bit of sauce from Obi-Wan's lower lip before pulling back with a soft smile. "Hopefully we get a neat light show. High stakes fireworks."

He knows how to fly a ship and he knows how to calculate the distance between planets and he knows many of the worlds that exist in the galaxy, but he wouldn't call himself an expert. Especially not on the mechanics of it all.
At this moment, he's just glad to be here with Klaus. To have this night together. He doubts very much it's going to end poorly, but if it does, he's glad he'll be here with Klaus when it happens.
"Even if nothing happens, this is already wonderful," he points out as he picks up another roll for himself. "No one has ever done something like this for me before."
no subject
"Well, as long as we're making the most of the night, I have something to show you." Finishing off his roll, he sets the container on the ground and then reaches into his back pocket to tug out his phone. Earlier in the day, Klaus had gotten the results for their STD screenings in an email. It wasn't a surprise to see that he was clean, not with how careful he is, but the important thing is that he knows for sure.
"This came today," he says, handing over the phone so that Obi-Wan can scroll through the results. "Clean bills of heath for the both of us. Maybe we should celebrate." He makes a big show of tapping his chin thoughtfully. "The question is how, though."
no subject
It feels a little like making battle reports, though with less importance, so he mostly tends not to use it. Which is why he'd filled in Klaus's email address when the clinic had asked him where he wanted the results sent. They had seemed skeptical, but he had signed the waiver and given his permission, and now he's glad he'd done so. He likely would have forgotten to check his email entirely.
After scanning the results, Obi-Wan laughs softly, glancing at Klaus from the corner of his eye before handing back his phone. "How, indeed," he hums, pretending to give it some deep consideration as he takes a sip from his water.
The results certainly make the entire setup Klaus has put so much effort into that much more meaningful.

"We can start with a drink," Klaus says as he puts his phone on silent and sets it aside, because as eager as he is, they don't have to pounce on each other right now. That's the thing about spending time with Obi-Wan. Klaus likes all of it, no matter what they're doing. Sure, he has some preferences, but it's all good.
He leans back to grab the bottle out of the bowl of ice and scoop up the two wine glasses he stole from downstairs, since they don't have any flutes. After rolling himself back up, he hands a glass to Obi-Wan and then pops the cork on the bottle, laughing as it flies across the roof.
"What should we toast to?" He asks, smiling as he fills Obi-Wan's glass and then his own. "Something terribly cheesy would be in keeping with the theme."
no subject
"Something terribly cheesy," he says in a considering tone. The problem, he thinks, with attempting to find something cheesy to say is that he'll also be entirely sincere. Anything that might be considered overly romantic or silly is also still likely to be something he believes. Something he truly feels.
"To good timing," he settles on saying. "From being in the same place at the same time so that we might meet, to receiving these results on a day meant for romance, silly as it may sometimes seem. I fear I haven't actually managed to be cheesy at all."
no subject
"To good timing," he repeats, because that is a very good thing to toast to, he thinks. After clinking his glass against Obi-Wan's, he takes a large drink, letting the bubbles roll over his tongue before swallowing. He looks over at Obi-Wan with a smile and then leans in, holding his glass aside so he can give the other man a long, lingering kiss.
The timing is perfect. What are the odds that they would both end up here, in this strange little place out of space and time, together? Astronomical.
no subject
He truly hopes Klaus had asked his siblings to leave them alone, at least for a little while.
When the kiss eases apart, Obi-Wan smiles and takes another sip of his drink, enjoying the way the bubbles feel in his mouth. Time after time, he finds new and unusual traditions in Darrow, and time after time, he enjoys each and every one. It isn't only Klaus who has been introducing him to new things, though he does tend to do it more often than anyone else.
The entire world is new and he's lucky to be able to experience is alongside someone he loves and dear friends.
"You really did put together something magical tonight," he says. "You should feel good about all this. I certainly do, but as the one who benefits from the gesture, I'm saying you should as well."
no subject
"Well, you're worth the effort," Klaus tells him, leaning in for another lingering kiss. After finishing off his glass, he sets it down and then tosses himself back onto the mattress, spreading his limbs out as he looks up at the sky. "It is pretty nice, isn't it? I'd like to fix the roof up in general. Make it a place where everyone could hang out, you know? It'd be nice for the summer."
He sits up a little to reach for Obi-Wan's shirt, but a flash out of the corner of his eye distracts him and he looks up at the sky again. "I think I just saw a shooting star."
no subject
"Look at that," he murmurs in wonder. He's seen meteor showers before. He's been caught out in space in one or two before and while he absolutely would not recommend that experience, this is utterly beautiful. Even piece of the meteor streaks across the sky on a trail of light, leaving behind a brilliant path, and Obi-Wan reaches over to take Klaus's hand without looking.
He still has his glass in his other hand, but he sinks into a supine position, his head on a pillow, his eyes on the sky. Light streaks overhead and they're both quiet, watching, taking in the spectacle. They're lucky to be able to see this. They're lucky to see it together.
no subject
"I could live in this moment," he says after a long while, twisting his head to look up at Obi-Wan's face. He's said that once before, but it's even truer now. He's never experienced a moment as incredible as this one. He's never felt such peace.
He lifts his head to give Obi-Wan a kiss, smiling into it before pulling away to turn his gaze back up at the sky. Another piece of meteor soars by with a twinkling trail of light, and Klaus presses in closer to Obi-Wan with an utterly content sigh.
no subject
And he thinks the same can be said for Klaus. Deception is simple when it doesn't matter and while Obi-Wan doesn't care of it, prefers instead to be as honest as possible, it's been necessary for him in the past. But here, in these moments that matter, he knows they're both much too sincere to be anything else.
He likes that about them.
"Well, this is much better than space invaders," he says mildly, smiling as he tips his head slightly, his lips pressed to Klaus's hair. His eyes are still skyward, taking in the light as it streaks overhead.
no subject
Being with Obi-Wan doesn't make him a different person, just a better version of himself. He likes this better version.
"Well, luckily I know this hot Jedi who would protect me," Klaus teases, watching another light streak across the sky before turning his body until he can sling his leg over Obi-Wan's, planting his knees in the mattress until he's straddling him. He sits up and rests his hands on Obi-Wan's chest, smiling down at him as his fingers hook into the neck of his shirt.
He might be missing a bit of the meteor shower, but this view is just as good.
no subject
Which isn't a surprise at this point. It's extremely rare for him to go anywhere without it. There are certain places he understands such a thing isn't allowed and so he leaves it at home then, but if he's going anywhere else, he brings the lightsaber with him. It feels wrong and a little dangerous to leave it behind.
"You're missing the show," he says softly, sliding his hands down over Klaus's thighs toward his knees, then back up again. "Although it makes a stunning backdrop for my current view."
no subject
So, even though he's loathe to admit it, he likes knowing Obi-Wan would have his back with all of his Jedi powers. For all that he claims not to need anyone, he likes being part of a team.
"Oh yeah?" Klaus grins and sits up, making a show of pulling his shirt up over his head, tossing it aside and shaking out his hair. He lifts his hands to rest the top of his stacked fingers under his chin, elbows up in a classic pin up pose. "How's this?"
no subject
The electric heater Klaus has brought up to the roof provides ample warmth, which he's especially glad for now. While they usually end up in bed together when they have plans like this, he knows it wouldn't be nearly as pleasant if the chill in the air could reach them properly. They would have to go back inside, take the mattress in with them, get it down the stairs and back into Klaus's room and while Obi-Wan would absolutely make the effort to do all this work, he likes that they don't have to.
One more thing to appreciate about all the work Klaus put in for them tonight.
"And they rarely had a meteor shower as their backdrop," he continues as his hands slide higher, up to Klaus's waist. "So, truly, I think you've gone above and beyond what they were ever capable of."
no subject
"You should take a picture," Klaus tells him, gesturing towards Obi-Wan's phone as he lets his hair tumble back down over his shoulders. He's let it grow since he got here, since he likes it longer, and he thinks that Obi-Wan likes it, too. He wouldn't change his hair just because Obi-Wan liked it a certain way, but he won't deny that it's a definite bonus.
"Commemorate the event," he adds, shimmying his shoulders a little as he rests his hands on Obi-Wan's stomach, dragging his shirt up until Klaus can get his hands on bare skin. "Maybe even some dirty ones for you to look at later, like your holograms."
no subject
He reaches out for his phone without looking and it soars into his hand, though it hadn't been that far away to begin with. It's just that he can't look away from Klaus. Usually it isn't particularly easy and now, against this backdrop, with all he's done tonight, Obi-Wan feels particularly enamoured of him.
"Do you like having your picture taken?" he asks as he opens up the camera on his phone, pulling it back toward him so he can properly fit Klaus in the frame. Time and again, he's told Klaus how beautiful he is, but it isn't only the physical that makes him that way. There's a light in his eyes and a sadness, too, that only serves to deepen his humanity in a way Obi-Wan finds relentlessly captivating.
no subject
"People used to take it all the time," Klaus admits, shrugging a bit. "We were famous."
It's probably obvious by his tone that he has a lot of complicated feelings on the matter. When it all started, he liked the attention, but that soured as time went on, after Five disappeared, and more so after Ben died. He hated that people talked about their family like they knew anything about them, hated that so many people knew so much about him. Even after he left the Academy, they still hounded him and wrote about him in the tabloids, but they quickly lost interest when he neither got better or died.
"I like having my picture taken by you," he adds as Obi-Wan positions the camera. Klaus poses with his hands up over his head, wrists crossed at crown of his skull as he flexes his lean muscles and gives his best sultry look. Any pictures taken tonight will stay with Obi-Wan, entertaining only him, and Klaus likes the idea of that very much. So much so, that he rises up on his knees and hooks his thumbs in the waistband of his leggings to drag them down enough to expose the sharp cuts of his hips, because he knows that's a sight that Obi-Wan enjoys. "Any requests?"
no subject
His phone clicks when he takes the first picture and then he takes another quickly, when Klaus tugs down his leggings. Shifting the phone to one side so he can properly see, he smiles up at Klaus, then shakes his head.
"Just you," he says. He reaches up with his free hand, sitting up at the same time so he can hook his arm around Klaus. Turning them, Obi-Wan plants Klaus back on the mattress and then balances on his knees between his thighs, grinning down at him. "Or perhaps maybe just you just like this."
no subject
Once he's settled on his back, curls spilled across the pillow, Klaus tips his head up and reaches up to rest his hands next to his head, palms up as Obi-Wan takes another photo. The soft glow from the string lights makes his skin look almost golden, and Klaus bites his lip as he puts his hand on his chest, framing a nipple between two fingers as the camera clicks again. The whole thing turns him on more than he expected, and he lets out a pleased hum as he slides his hand down to reach into his leggings, cupping himself beneath the thin fabric as his cock hardens.
"You could take video too, if you wanted," Klaus tells him, smirking as he pushes his leggings down enough to tug his cock free and give it a few slow, lazy strokes. "Do you watch that one I sent you of me touching myself? It wasn't very good." He squeezes himself a little tighter and rocks his hips up with a soft sigh. "You should take a better one."
no subject
He takes another picture just before Klaus pushes down his leggings and then, without letting himself think on it, he presses the button to record a video. Shifting further back a little to get Klaus entirely in the frame once more, to catch the way he strokes his cock slowly, pleasurably.
"Let me," he murmurs, pulling the phone above them slightly and then reaching to wrap his hand around Klaus's cock as well, his grip just about Klaus's. He glances at his phone to make sure he still has it framed properly and then he strokes once, slowly, watching on the phone.
